Give me Jesus

I have been a little more than obsessed with researching other religions.
It is so fascinating to me to hear what other people believe to be true.
I try to put myself in their shoes & wonder if I was raised in a different religion would I just accept it to be true because that is what my family and friends believe and have taught me?  would I explore the world and seek out my own beliefs?
I hope so.  I mean, I guess that is what I have done myself.
I was raised Christian, a Nazarene to be exact, but I have studied other religions or the lack there of and have come to my own conclusions about it all.

and you know what the answer is?
Jesus.

the Sunday School answer. Jesus.
Jesus is the only way.
I'm still not sure exactly what I believe about a lot of things... but those are things that don't matter in the overall scheme of my salvation..
I don't have all the answers.

I do know that Jesus came to this crazy world to teach by example, to live a perfect life, and to die a horrible death on the cross, and his blood was the atonement for my sins.
and he did it out of love.

we get so hung up on things that don't matter.  rules that set us up for failure, rather than foster a relationship with God.  issues that cause fights amongst ourselves, rather than reach the unsaved.  churches that cost millions of dollars, rather than feeding the hungry.

Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

I agree it's always really interesting to study other religions. Definitely an admirable trait in you, since most people can't see past their own I've learned. I'd like to find a good book that summarizes the core beliefs of lots of them - that would be interesting to read. In most cases, I can always find common ground with people if they follow a good, moral code regardless of affiliation. :) There is a comfort though in staying the religion of my parents and then marrying Jonathan, also of the same religion. It makes things easy, but also makes the way we see the world quite similar.

So true, Kels! I totally agree with you! Miss you lots! I'm finally getting around to making my towel hook for my bathroom that we picked out at hobby lobby! Love you!
